    Selling Harry Potter Books
Sorry to clog you guys with two posts in such a short time span, but is anyone interested in buying a couple of Harry Potter books?

I have #'s 6 and 7. (The Half-Blood Prince and the Deathly Hallows)

I did ask a while back and got no takers, but I figured that since it's the holiday time, maybe someone would be interested. They're both hardcover, both mint as far as I can tell, both have their original dust jackets. The inside jacket lists the newer at 34,99, and the older at 29,99 but obviously I am not expecting that. Just make a reasonable offer.

    Advice
I have a stalking neighbor who has now decided to send me texts at odd hours. I have started feeling scared too. What are my options to get help from law?

    Apron?
A friend with eclectic tastes dropped the hint that she'd like an apron for Christmas. I don't want to just buy any old one, and yet, with one week to go, I guess that's what I might have to do. I'm going to ask just for the heck of it - does anyone know where I can shop for a variety of aprons? If not, maybe a seamstress that can whip something up (obviously this wouldn't be an Xmas present at that point).

Thanks for the help, I considered getting something custom printed at cafepress.com or something, but that's a little to generic and she deserves better.

Thank you all in advance; if anyone can help is it all of you here!

Holidaze Sauce and Bah Humbug some Scroogilicious Xmas Fun this weekend
Holidaze Sauce: Making it (less) weary and slight
    Friday, December 18th, 8:00 p.m.
Acrosstown Repertory Theatre, 619 S. Main Street
$5 to 50 sliding scale, to benefit ART and Duffy's Heart Fund
The hoary chestnuts of the holidaze season (Thanksgiving, Chanukah, Solstice, Human Light, Christmas, Kwanzaa and New Year's) will be roasted over an open fire of wit. And there also may be a bit of joy to the world celebration as well as cynical criticism; we like to mix and match so the audience is stirred but not shaken. Content tends to be very adult and irreverent.

So far the line up includes sing-a-longs, songs, storytelling, poems, performance, video and "Dear Sheila Claws" letters.  Performances by Shamrock McShane, Sheila Bishop, David Maas, Jimmy Nil Fishhawk, Johnny Rocket and Victoria Bradbury. Video work by frog, Zach Castedo and Bryan Konessky. And maybe a few surprises. It will be just like Christmas!

A crookedletter cabaret to benefit the Acrosstown Repertory Theatre and Duffy's Heart Fund, a fund created by The Helping Hands Clinic to meet the needs of homeless women. You also are encouraged to bring canned food, hygiene products, candles and white socks for The Home Van.

    Bah Humbug: Gainesville Holiday Extravaganza
    Sunday, December 20th, 7:00 p.m.
Daacha Gallery, 11 SE 5th Ave
    $3-5 sliding scale
Come out to this show of puppets by Kathy & Kathleen and company, plus music by The Bathtub Minstrels and the Hogtown Bah-Humbug Extravaganza Christmas Carol Pick-up Band Orchestra. Bring a silly small wrapped gift and sit on Santa's lap.  Some content may be adult.

    Veternarians in Gainesville
I am looking for a decent Vet in Gainesville that doesn't charge you an arm and a leg everytime you take your dog in for a visit. I most recently used Timberview Pet Clinic but everytime I would go I could not get out of there for less than $150 .. Way too much $$ especially if your dog isn't really sick and just going in for normal check ups.

    thanks in advance,

    Free medical resource
I just discovered a free resource through North Florida Regional Medical Center: Consult-A-Nurse; ask about symptoms, etc, from a registered nurse. A good alternative to going to (or finding) a doctor for something you're not sure about the severity of. 1-800-611-6913.

    Thought I would share.

My husband and I were trying to figure out what to get his little sister for Christmas (she is 2) and his dad told him that she is having trouble holding crayons without breaking them - he heard that they make crayon holders to help them color - but I cannot find them! does anyone know what he is talking about? also, if you have purchased a holder for your little ones...do they like it?!

EDIT: ALSO... I know this is so the wrong place to ask this, but I recently bought a car (scion xB if it matters) that came with 18" rims and low profile tires and I was wanting to sell them and buy stock-sized wheels (usually 15") - but I posted them on craigslist and it was a no go - I spoke to someone at pepboys and they were saying I should look into seeing if anyone would want to work out some a trade situation - their regular size wheels for my 18s - and I figured this would be a decent place to start since I have NO idea where to post this situation! any suggestions?

    Opinions, please!
I realize this isn't directly related to Gainesville, but it's the holidays, so I figured people wouldn't mind helping me out...

Since money is tight this holiday season, I am going to be giving friends some homemade holiday treats in decorated tins/jars. If you were to be the recipient of one of these treats, would you rather have an assortment of!:

    A) Homemade Candy (toffee, peanut brittle, almond bark, or possibly some kind of fudge)
    B) Holiday cookies (sugar, gingerbread, coconut macaroons, something I'm missing?)
    C) A big jar of homemade hot cocoa mix with mini 'shmellows

Feel free to also tell me your favorite cookies or candies (homemade style, not like Reeses even though those are definitely delicious). I can only make one of the above, since I don't want the ingredients to get too costly.

Much thanks for helping me make my holiday decisions!!!

    credit union recommendation?
I'm wanting to open a checking account at a credit union, and maybe get a car loan later next year, but don't know how to choose a credit union. Florida Credit Union? Sunstate? I'm not a student so I don't know if CampusUSA is an option. Suggestions?

    just curious
If you were having a semi-nice birthday dinner with a group of friends on a Monday night, where would you go? I specify Monday night because my first choice was The Top, but they're closed on Mondays. I'm a vegetarian and so are some of my friends, but not all of them. I'm kind of leaning towards BJs just for the avocado rolls and pizookies (which are both amazingly good) but I wanted to make sure I'm not completely forgetting some other really good place to eat.

    car detailing interior
Anybody know of an affordably priced carwash that details the interior? I can detail the exterior myself, but the inside is getting bad. I need the seats/carpets shampoo'd and everything.

    Babysitting Jobs?
Hey guys! I'm a student at the University of Florida and, due to family circumstances, I'll be here for the entirety of Christmas break. I'm looking to do a little bit of babysitting to earn some holiday money (and pay the bills, too...), but seeing as I don't really have many friends with children in Gainesville, I don't exactly know where to start.

Do any of you guys have recommendations of places I should look? Places to put fliers (or places I can't - I know it's not allowed everywhere)?

    Thanks!
